Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Darcy! Hello! My name is Darcy Jackson. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and a licensed professional clinical counselor. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. My approach to therapy is built on compassion, humor, and a willingness to challenge and support my clients as they embark on their healing journey. My approach My therapy style is integrative and collaborative. I use different approaches depending on what suits each client best. I work from an empathic, non-judgmental, and multicultural lens focused on inclusion. In session, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My focus I typically work with adults 18 and older, open to all genders, marital statuses, and cultural backgrounds. Clients often come to me struggling with grief and loss, anxiety, faith-based needs, infertility, and relational concerns. My communication style I create a warm and friendly environment. My tone adjusts to fit the session’s needs. I believe in transparency and humor and will challenge when appropriate, sometimes directly. My journey to mental healthcare Being a therapist was never my goal. In 2017, while working as an adult educator in a county jail, my students told me I cared too much about their mental health and should consider therapy. That inspired me to apply to graduate school. My own life experiences requiring therapy connect directly to the conditions I treat. I enjoy working with those unsure about treatment or first-time clients. I do this work because I value helping you navigate your life’s circumstances.
