Getting to know Darlene Obregon

Hi. My name is Darlene Obregon, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, License #10481. I earned my Master’s in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling from California State University, Sacramento. I work with clients to uncover the roots of their problems and help them find new ways of healing for a more fulfilling life. My approach I incorporate psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapies. I believe our past influences who we are today, and faulty thinking or attachment styles from our past provide insight into present problems. I help clients recognize emotions, communicate needs effectively, develop regulation skills, and challenge negative thinking patterns. My focus I have worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I have experience with depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment disorders, bipolar disorder, ADHD, childhood traumas, sexual abuse, school issues, family conflicts, divorce, custody matters, work stress, and life stage stressors. My communication style Actively listening is very important to me. I strive to create a space with no judgment—only understanding. What you say is meaningful, and I am here to listen. While listening, I can pick up on subtleties you may have missed. My journey to therapy I have always been fascinated by psychology and the human mind, which sparked my love for therapy and desire to help people. It is an honor to walk alongside individuals through difficult times, and I do not take this lightly. I love what I do and am passionate about my work. My goals for you Setting treatment goals is collaborative. I believe clients know what they want to work on, and together we identify your therapy goals.
