“Debra has been my therapist for more than three months, but it feels like I've known her for years. She is compassionate, understanding, and very easy to work with. She is great at sharing and explaining the many tools available to help me function and cope with my various mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, OCD, autism, and ADHD. She reminds me to explore these methods at my own pace so I don't burn out too quickly. She has been a wonderful source of encouragement and support when I discover what works for me and what doesn't. Additionally, my appointment time/frequency has needed to change a few times, and she has been a pleasant, cooperative, and helpful coordinator for that, as well.”

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist with over 30 years of experience, licensed in North Carolina and Georgia. I hold a Master's degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling from California State University, Northridge. I have extensive experience working with individuals needing help with depression, anxiety, impulse control, addiction, chronic and life-threatening illness, life transitions, grief and loss, relationship and family problems, stress management, and job stress. My 20 years of experience as a manager and senior manager in the healthcare arena has enabled me to provide coaching for those wishing to develop or enhance leadership skills, improve professional relationships, and address workplace issues. Additionally, my 30 years as a yoga practitioner and former teacher have given me skills to help you develop mindfulness, better manage stress, and feel more balance in your life. My personal style is warm, supportive, and engaging. My goal is to understand what you would like to accomplish in therapy and then work with you to develop a plan to help get you there. I combine a variety of modalities, perspectives, and techniques including cognitive behavioral, humanistic, client-centered, existential, psychodynamic, solution-focused, and mindfulness approaches. I will work with your individual needs so that you may express, clarify, and understand your feelings, enhance your relationships, develop new skills, and ultimately make the desired life changes.
