Hi there, Yo soy Delmy y hablo español! My name is Delmy Martinez. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Los Angeles, CA, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults and specialize in stress, anxiety, adjustment difficulties, family challenges, and interpersonal relationships related to immigration and acculturation issues. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy to help my clients address their difficulties, identify treatment goals, and start feeling better and relieved.
My approach
My approach to therapy varies depending on the needs of each person. However, I frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy, as these modalities allow me to assist my clients in understanding their difficulties and finding ways to feel better.
My focus
Throughout the years, I have found that I work well with adults ranging from their early 20s to late 70s. I have extensive experience providing therapy in Spanish and work well with both English and Spanish speakers. I focus on difficulties with anxiety, stress, coping skills, job challenges, relationship problems, and general adjustment issues as they relate to immigration and acculturation for immigrants or people born in the United States to immigrant families. I help clients navigate the dilemmas and contradictions that exist when living in a new country or in a society different from that of their families of origin, so clients can feel understood, validated, relieved, and learn new ways to cope.
My communication style
My communication style is warm, welcoming, compassionate, and respectful. I understand that therapy can be scary, so I provide the support clients need to establish a connection and develop trust.

Provider cancelled the appointment on me with no explanation. I had to call their office twice to get an answer as to why the provider cancelled the appointment. Apparently they weren’t accepting new patients despite Zocdoc letting my schedule a new patient appointment.
