I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am very passionate about being a mental health therapist as I genuinely enjoy supporting and guiding people on the this sometimes complicated journey of life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I always aim to build a trusting, non-judgmental, supportive rapport/therapeutic relationship with clients. This foundation is so important for the therapeutic relationship. I like to adjust my approach depending on the needs of the client or family- in some cases, I find a cognitive behavioral approach is best suited and in other situations a deeper approach like psychodynamic is more effective.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am well-versed in facilitating parent-child, couples, and family therapy. I like to use a relational lens and interventions, and I incorporate communication skills, attachment dynamics, child-parent psychotherapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I am also very experienced in working with individual adults, children, and teens, and I tend to be family therapy-oriented with children. I often use CBT, mindfulness, and culturally focused/sensitive approaches. I speak Spanish, have used Spanish extensively in my practice, and I am particularly fond of working with Latino clients. I use and model active listening skills in my clinical work and I lead with empathy in my sessions. I use a gentle tone but also help clients with active problem solving.
