What should a new client know about working with you?

As a veteran therapist, I look to make a connection with the clients who cross my path without a preferred population in mind. My greatest asset is to show up to each session as an authentic support person for you, and a willingness to meet you exactly where you are. I intentionally stay educated and trained in a variety of therapy practices and skills because no two clients are the same, and I want to honor each person's individual needs. I will lead with openness, honesty, and compassion always. I am here to support you in finding your voice, and I will be transparent in our work together so there are no surprises and you can feel comfortable sharing with me.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My journey to becoming a therapist began with a love of working with youth. I had every intention of being a Kindergarten teacher, but realized quickly that I have a natural ability to make connections with individuals and small groups. After exploring what options were available to nurture this strength, I was fortunate enough to get connected to the right education programs, and the rest is history. I love meeting new people, and I have an innate desire to help others find healing, growth, and joy in their lives. Being a therapist has allowed me to combine a career with my life's passions. We will work together to explore what is working well for you in your life, and what you want to see improve. Based on those key areas, we will collaborate to develop specific, measurable goals to support developing the life and relationships you desire. Our first session will be a time for you to get a sense of whether I have the right communication style and right energy to help you on your healing journey. We will, of course, take care of the obligatory paperwork and intake questions, but most importantly, we will get to know each other. My hope is that you will be able to sense my commitment to helping you heal, and that you will walk away from the first session filled with hope.
