Getting to know Edmond Otis

Hi, my name is Edmond Otis, and I'm a licensed therapist with 27 years of professional experience. I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Loma Linda University. I focus on helping clients who are experiencing a wide range of challenges and issues including stress and anxiety, relationship problems, performance, motivation, self-esteem, lack of confidence, career difficulties, along with other related concerns. I maintain a small but consistent practice while also teaching, speaking, and consulting on the dynamics of stress, resilience, performance, communication, conflict resolution, team-building, family, relationships, goal acquisition, and improving critical outcomes. I've developed and taught courses at the university and graduate level in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Sport Psychology, Social Psychology, and Health Psychology.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment - and changes can be made that will help them feel and function better. I recognise that taking the first step to sign up for therapy, or trying a new therapist, can take courage and I look forward to working with you to help identify and reach your goals. I feel that having a specific goal (or set of goals) for being in therapy - is an important part of reaching a successful outcome. Does the client see a need to change their actions or behaviours? Change how they think about themselves, their situation, or those around them? Have better control of their emotions? Often the most important goal is first - to simply figure out what the goal should actually be.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Edmond is exactly what I needed he helped me through everything from childhood trauma anxiety and my adhd journey without making me feel shame or strange 10/10 would recommend to anyone
Edmond is such a great therapist. He asks the hard questions that help me work out what I’m actually feeling. He checks in frequently and has a calm and warm energy about him. I was apprehensive as a woman about a male therapist but choosing Edmond was a great choice.
