Getting to know Eliza Warde

I am Eliza Warde, a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT). I believe that you are the expert on you, and through questions and observations, I can offer guidance to help you achieve your goals. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, parenting, and competitive performance issues. My approach My therapeutic approach varies depending on the client. Client-centered therapy is a nondirective approach that focuses on maximizing your ability to find your own solutions with support from me. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on how thoughts and emotions affect behavior. These are the two approaches I most commonly use with clients. My focus Typical issues my clients present with include depression, stress, anxiety, self-esteem, and parenting challenges. I am also knowledgeable about competitive athletics and performance issues. My communication style I create a therapeutic environment of openness and acceptance. I provide a nonjudgmental approach so clients feel comfortable and relaxed. I listen intently to understand your world and self-view. My journey to therapy As a psychology major in college, I have always been interested in people's personal journeys and how those journeys impact their lives and relationships. I value building a relationship with clients and helping them find their truth and improve their lives. Helping clients feel understood is important in the therapeutic process. My goals for you I follow your lead when it comes to goal setting. Some clients begin therapy with specific goals in mind, while others develop goals over time through the therapeutic process. My first session with you The first session involves some history taking to understand current and past issues, then opens up for you to discuss what is most important to you.
