Elizabeth Murphy, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CO
Hi there, I'm Elizabeth! Little and big changes can shake up your life, and it's okay to reach out for some additional help. I specialize in working with individuals and couples struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, suicidal thoughts, and domestic violence. I like to work with clients in a collaborative effort to determine what therapy would be best and develop their treatment goals. Whenever you're ready, please feel free to reach out. My approach Based on what you need, I will determine what approach I will use. These approaches may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help reshape unhelpful thoughts, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help regulate emotions, radical acceptance to help accept things that have happened and learn to move forward, Stages of Change, or Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. My approach changes based on your needs. My focus I work with adolescents to adults who struggle with mild to severe symptoms of anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, and relationship trauma. If you're finding yourself struggling with moving forward in life, having a difficult change, or finding yourself with a lot of negative self-talk then I'm glad you're seeking support. Whether you're adding tools for your coping skills, moving past trauma, or developing your own goals, I'll work along side you to create a plan for success. My communication style I value an open communication flow that allows you to speak freely so progress can be made. I practice active listening to ensure you are validated and heard during the session. My journey to mental healthcare My journey into therapy was a happy accident. I started out as a communicative disorder major and all the required classes were impacted, which caused me to change my major to human services and that resulted in getting my masters in social work. I ended up stumbling into crisis work while getting my masters and that's when I realized I wanted to be a therapist.
