Hi there, I'm Elizaida!
My name is Elizaida Velez-Olan, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) established in North Carolina, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Puerto Rico at R?o Piedras and my Bachelor's from Universidad del Sagrado Coraz?n. I put effort into building strong rapport and trust with my clients, ensuring a safe, non-judgmental space where they feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings. I emphasize individual well-being, guiding clients to find balance and satisfaction in all areas of life.

I integrate a diverse range of theoretical approaches, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, solution-focused techniques, and trauma-informed care. Each offers unique tools that support my clients' individual needs.

I have worked with a variety of clients, from young children to middle-aged individuals, increasing my expertise in treating a broad range of diagnoses, including Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, Trauma- and Stress-Related Disorders, ADHD, Marriage, Parenting and Co-Parenting, Anger Management, and Adjustment Disorders.

I have an approachable and compassionate style adapted to clients' beliefs, values, and cultural backgrounds. I want each client to feel listened to and validated when sharing their struggles and successes. My communication style depends on the client's circumstances to best support their needs and goals. I strive to provide a calm, honest, and personal yet professional environment. Many clients describe sessions as an ?oasis? in the ?desert,? a place to recharge and continue working on themselves.
