Psychotherapist
CO
Every human being's behavior in the here and now is influenced by events they have lived through in their past. My goal as a therapist is to help people navigate the here and now by deeply examining how those events are activated by our current world around us and healing the wounded parts. My approach I specialize in tools such as EMDR, IFS, yoga, somatic experiencing, and breath work to help people work through targeted traumas from the past that can change the way we feel, think, and move through the world today. My focus I have over 13 years of experience working with teens through adults on healing their histories of trauma. While I work with people of many ages to support their healing processes, the modalities I am most trained in are best utilized by individuals ages 15 and older. My communication style I believe people when they talk - I value direct and open dialogue to help move my clients through the therapeutic process in a way that is validating to their experience. My journey to mental healthcare Growing up, my life was changed by my own therapist. I always wanted to extend to others the feeling of acceptance and safety that I had at that time, so I pursued my degrees and have been able to find joy in assisting others in healing their wounds. My goals for you Therapy is a collaborative process! Initial intake is always a goal-setting process, and I am a firm believer in reflecting on those goals and progress toward them on a regular basis as the discomfort that often brings us to therapy resolves. My first session with you Our first session is always at the client's pace - so for some that means more disclosure than others. What it will always entail is getting a sense of how your life is impacted today and setting concrete goals for the improvements you want to see in your life as the client.
