Getting to know Emil Jech

I view therapy as an interactive self-discovery process, with our therapeutic relationship central to successful change. My approach is to engage you in the here and now, helping you focus on your experience and identify and act on your choices. This means not concentrating on what you "should" do but rather on what you want, need, and can do given your unique life situation. My interactions with you are aimed at supporting you to be fully alive, vibrant, coherent, and clear in your relationships. I assist you in becoming aware of your internal processes-thinking, feeling, and sensory-as well as your experience of the world around you. I encourage experimenting with new behaviors and ways of being in the world, providing support and guidance to help you feel safe as you face and confront unresolved painful issues. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Washington, which informs my compassionate and client-centered approach.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My experience is that you will likely emerge from the first session with a fresh, hopeful energy as you become excited about possible directions. You will have increased clarity about your issues and a sense of the changes that you can make. The first session should also give you a positive sense of the therapeutic relationship.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
