Dr. Esteban Colon Jr. received his doctoral training at Carlos Albizu University, where he pursued an Addiction track under the Scholar–Practitioner model, and has experience in prevention, outpatient, intensive outpatient, medication-assisted treatment, partial hospitalization, and residential treatment settings at the master’s level. Dr. Colon received his master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling with a minor in Addiction from the University of South Florida.
Dr. Colon has provided therapeutic services for a wide range of mental health disorders—including depression, anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and adjustment disorders—often working with clients who have co-occurring substance use disorders. His experience spans diverse settings: community clinics, private practice, corporate environments, and correctional facilities. Dr. Colon has served diverse populations across various age groups, genders, ethnicities, and religious backgrounds.
Dr. Colon is an experienced behavioral therapist specializing in both individual and group therapy, with expertise in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), cognitive-behavioral techniques, acceptance and commitment therapy, psychoeducation, and relapse prevention. He has held supervisory and administrative roles, including counselor supervisor and Program Director, where he trained other counselors in one-on-one and group sessions.
