Eva Brown, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Eva Brown, license # LCS18234. With respect and compassion, we will work together to increase self-awareness and forgiveness for ourselves and others. I have worked as a medical and psychiatric social worker/therapist in hospitals, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, and private practice for over thirty years. I work with the adult and geriatric population. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California. My approach I will work on establishing rapport with you to build a strong therapeutic alliance; convey caring, support, warmth, and empathy; provide non-judgmental support; and develop a level of trust so you feel safe discussing the issues that brought you in and their impact on your life. My focus I mostly work with young adults, adults, and the geriatric population. I'm comfortable addressing depression, anxiety, stress, feeling overwhelmed, not appreciated or validated, and all issues surrounding grief. My communication style My approach is to first build a trusting therapeutic relationship so clients feel safe and can talk freely. Together, we will work out the best plan to reach your goals. I will guide, educate, and provide you with skills to help you navigate challenging times. My journey to mental healthcare I wanted to be in counseling since I was 17 and going through a difficult time. I saw a school psychologist but unfortunately felt neither heard, seen, validated, nor supported. I took this experience and pursued a career in counseling to ensure my clients never experience this. My goals for you I will ask what you wish to accomplish in therapy, what your goals are, and the time frame you have in mind. My first session with you A pleasant meeting where we get to know one another a bit. Hopefully, I can help you see the purpose of therapy.
