“Francisca is warm and easy to open up to and gives the flexibility that I need when dealing with appointments and how I am able to show up at different times. She is good at prioritizing what's urgent and what's difficult in life that is ongoing; my only wish would be that she share and refer to notes from preceding visits more.”

Getting to know Francisca Ammerman

Do you find yourself falling into unhelpful patterns, without knowing why or how to change them? I am Francisca Ammerman, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I help clients gain clarity around what needs to shift and provide the support to try out new ways of being in the world. My approach Ensuring a safe, comfortable, and calming environment, I utilize different theoretical approaches to match my clients' needs. This can include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, and Solution-Focused approaches. My focus The family unit is the strongest support system within an individual's life. I offer individual sessions to parents wanting to become more reflective and present in that role. I also help teens who are navigating life transitions and relationships, as well as individuals who simply want to create a life that feels more aligned with their values. My communication style I believe in allowing my clients to take the lead within their sessions. I do not pressure clients to discuss situations they are not ready to explore. I guide my clients in their choices as they process past experiences, current stresses, and family dynamics. I ensure that my clients feel safe during our time together as we work as a team in treatment. My journey to mental healthcare As a young child, I often wondered, "Why do people do what they do?" This question led me to discover my love and passion for therapy. I graduated with my bachelor's in Liberal Studies and my master's in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. I earned my Pupil Personnel Services credential from Brandman University. I began my professional career in 2012 working within school districts as both a therapist and a school counselor, supporting children and adults who have experienced trauma. In 2021, I started my private practice, taking on clients seeking growth and healing.

Very caring and understanding. Willing to make extra effort to help difficult circumstances. Asks questions to allow deeper understanding of issues and needs. I’ve had a lot of therapists in my time and Francisca quite possibly is my favorite!
