CA
Hi there, I'm Gregory! I am Gregory Harbaugh, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#100711) in California. I hold an MEd in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California. I offer an individualized, client-centered approach, meeting the client where s/he is. I focus on depression, anxiety, trauma-based, attachment, and other areas. My approach Depending on client needs, I use Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Attachment-based, Supportive, and Psychodynamic therapies. My focus I work with individuals, couples, and adolescents, treating depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment issues, personality issues, and supporting gay and gender non-conforming clients. My communication style I typically use a person-centered, calm, non-directive, collaborative approach. Sometimes supportive, meeting the client where s/he is; being fully present in the moment without judgment. My journey to mental healthcare As a child, I thought I wanted to be a physician and care for people; however, events did not support that goal. After many years in other endeavors, I returned to that earlier goal. I feel this work aligns with my values and personality. My goals for you I like clients to set goals with guidance. Some clients appreciate a little "guided discovery." My first session with you We generally work to establish a therapeutic alliance, understand the nature of psychotherapy and important office procedures, intake historical information for case conceptualization, and discuss client needs going forward.
