Psychotherapist
NC
Hi there, I'm Hannah! Hi! I'm Hannah Glenn, a licensed clinical mental health counselor and licensed clinical addictions specialist. I earned my Master's in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I specialize in working with family members affected by a loved one's substance or behavioral addiction. I also work with individuals diagnosed (or not yet diagnosed) with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and dissociative disorders. My approach focuses on developing a genuine and meaningful connection with my clients. During sessions, you are likely to laugh and grow-two therapeutic qualities I believe depend on one another. My approach At its core, my therapeutic approach is person-centered. Clients ?drive the bus,? pointing me in the direction they want to go, and together we create a plan to reach therapeutic goals. I often use interventions from various modalities to address presenting concerns, most commonly CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Transactional Analysis Theory. Clients usually have ?homework? between sessions (unless preferred otherwise), as this is where challenges and opportunities for change arise. My focus I am passionate about working with spouses, family members, or friends of someone struggling with addiction or substance abuse. My personal and professional experiences have narrowed my focus to individuals experiencing symptoms related to OCD, ADHD, and dissociation. My communication style I tend to be gentle but direct with clients. Depending on a client's personality and preferred style, I adjust the gentleness and directness so clients can tolerate discussing uncomfortable topics or receiving difficult feedback. I kindly challenge my clients. Whether in person or via Telehealth, the tone and environment of each session is warm, laid-back, and personal.
