Getting to know Hilary Settlemire

Hi, my name is Hilary Settlemire. I have my Master's in Social Work from the University of Denver and currently hold my LCSW. My approach to therapy is client-centered, focusing on helping you become your best self. My approach I use CBT, DBT, and solution-focused therapy. I want to help you become aware of your behaviors and work through them together. My focus I primarily work with adults dealing with ADHD, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression. I also enjoy working with couples and addressing marriage complications. I am open to helping anyone going through challenges. My communication style I am a very energetic person and like to laugh during sessions. I want us to build a therapeutic relationship where you feel comfortable sharing whatever you are going through without judgment. My journey to mental healthcare When I was in high school, I said I wanted to be a social worker. Later, I thought I wanted to be a nurse and went to nursing school, but I wasn't happy. I found myself talking to patients a lot and wanting to know their stories, which reminded me why I wanted to be a social worker. I like to help people and be their support system through difficult and amazing times. I love what I do-it never feels like work or a job; it feels like my passion. My goals for you Goals are very important so we know where we are going and can measure the progress we've made. My first session with you Our first session will be about getting to know each other, building the foundation of our relationship, and me asking a lot of questions to understand you and what you want to get out of therapy.
