Getting to know Ivory Mae Long

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who has worked in various settings (school, home, inpatient and outpatient) and have collaborated with diverse clients. I started my career working with kids with Autism for 11 years and completed a professional course study for Applied Behavioral Analysis with West Florida University in December 2010. While completing my professional studies at West Florida University, I also received my Masters in Human Behavior from National University in December 2010. I have been a LCSW for 10 years and received my master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California in May 2012. I have collaborated with individuals (adolescents, teenagers, and adults), couples, family and groups in various settings. It is my goal to always focus on the patient’s needs and goals, providing a safe, supportive and compassionate environment, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and behavioral therapy. I am also looking forward in furthering my expertise in other evidence-based therapies. My areas of expertise include: - Phases of life - Behavioral issues with children and adolescents - Anxiety and Depression - Life stressors I approach therapy as the start of one’s journey to find the strength and courage to create changes to find their happiness and best versions of themselves.
