Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Jacqueline! I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and the Founder and CEO of The Bridge Advocacy. I am a United States Air Force veteran, having served as a Medic. Before becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist, I worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse for over 20 years. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University (HIU) and am currently pursuing a PsyD in Marriage and Family Therapy at The Chicago School. My approach I am a Trauma Informed Attachment Theory Therapist. I believe people learn how to be in relationships in infancy from their primary caregivers. This is not to blame parents—most did or are doing the best they can. As an attachment theory therapist, I help clients gain insight into who they are and what they value. My focus I have a strong desire to help couples, families, and individuals find hope and healing as they learn to understand themselves and the world around them. I work with those facing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual challenges that impact how they experience life and relationships. My communication style We explore life and relationship experiences to find patterns that reveal the underlying causes of clients’ struggles. When we discover what’s behind the struggles, my clients and I collaborate to design a plan to bring about the changes they want in their lives and relationships. My journey to mental healthcare As a foster mom, I saw how beneficial therapy was for the kids, so I started seeing a therapist myself. The experience was so helpful that I decided to serve others in the same way. My goals for you I believe goal setting is collaborative. We will work together to develop a treatment plan and set goals. My first session with you In the first session, we will review your completed paperwork to ensure any questions are answered.
