Jacqueline Perez, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Jacqueline Perez, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist based in Los Angeles, California. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from California State University, Northridge. I offer an affirming outlook in a safe and caring environment. I center my clients' identity and prioritize providing therapy that is culturally relevant and compassionate. I often use play, art, and writing as tools in therapy. My approach I believe in working with you to identify your strengths and using them to benefit your mental health and well-being. I often use a Feminist Approach and Narrative Therapy to help clients recognize that communities of color have had to adapt and develop strategies of survival to endure marginalization and historical trauma. I use this to highlight client resiliency and center their story in our sessions. My focus I specialize in working with adults, parents, and families. I have extensive experience working with the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. My clinical experience includes working with complex trauma such as sexual abuse, domestic violence, and religious trauma. I also specialize in helping clients manage life transitions and mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD. My communication style I ask that my clients push themselves to step outside of their comfort zones and often encourage them to advocate for themselves in their day-to-day lives. I prioritize safety in the therapeutic relationship and work to build a safe space with my clients, referring back to an individualized plan created between us based on their needs at the beginning of treatment. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist because I love helping others feel confident, happy, and able to engage fully in their day-to-day lives. I believe that regardless of your diagnosis, you deserve to live your life to the fullest—whatever that may mean or look like for you.
