Psychotherapist
CO
Welcome! I am a person-centered counselor who seeks therapeutic relationships built on trust, respect, safety, and some humor. I enjoy seeing my clients grow into their most authentic selves, who can engage with the world in a way that meets their needs. My approach I work primarily from a person-centered framework, a humanistic lens, incorporating multicultural, trauma-informed care, and other modalities (CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Attachment, IFS, etc.) based on client need. To quote Mary Pipher, I want you to be as intentional as possible in your choices and as kind, vibrant, authentic, and engaged with the world as you can be. I focus on our relationship as a catalyst for change as we examine areas in your life that may get in the way of moving towards your goals. I hope that clients feel both fully accepted and challenged in our relationship. My focus I work with adolescents and young adults who may be struggling with a variety of issues. This may include anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, life transitions, school and/or work stress, and relational struggles. I spend time building rapport to get an idea of who you are, what your life looks like, and what areas you may want to be the focus of our time together. This may look like processing stressors that happened that week, exploring how past trauma is impacting you currently, learning/practicing coping and communication skills, and even holding space for parts of yourself you may not have other places or people to do so with. My communication style I value open communication and boundaries. I utilize humor and direct challenges when needed. As we get to know one another, I hope we can find a flow of communication on how and when to address the hard things, as well as when you may need more time to just exist. I utilize active empathic listening and often make reflections on what I am both hearing and seeing you present.
