“My therapist has been the most incredible support. I went on the search for a therapist when I was in a very difficult place and she provided me with key support and guidance to manage everything going on. Now I’m regulated and feeling confident with a toolbox full of strategies. I still seeing her regularly and we are working on life transitions, communication skills, and self compassion. So grateful!”

“Janet allows me to speak and asks questions from a perspective of curiosity. She is completely without judgement and has offered several practical solutions to my anxiety issues. I particularly like when she tells me what it is that I'm describing. When she does that, it is reassuring because it is something other people must have experienced enough to put a label on.”

Getting to know Janet Stevens

I am a clinical social worker (LCSW) with ten years of experience helping individuals and families cope with life stressors and navigate more complicated problems. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento. I frequently work with clients who experience anxiety, depression, intense emotions, or overwhelming stress, as well as those facing issues related to substance use, legal challenges, or other behavioral concerns. I firmly believe that you are the expert in your own life, whatever the situation. My role is to provide support, offer new perspectives, and engage in collaborative problem-solving to help you reach your goals. My therapy toolbox includes positive, strengths-based strategies grounded in mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavior therapy. Working with me, you will find a warm and welcoming space to explore the issues that keep you “stuck” – and the understanding and acceptance necessary to begin making lasting changes in your life.

I've had many years of experience in therapy and this is the best match I've had so far. Janet really sees and hears everything I have to say and helps me process everything I bring to the table, including unhelpful thoughts and difficult feelings. I feel like we are completely on the same page and feel really safe and hopeful in our sessions. Couldn't ask for a better fit, and am beyond grateful for her.
