Hi there, I'm Jeannette! Hi everyone! My name is Jeannette Benavides, and I am an LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) in California. My license number is #145697. I earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University. I decided to become a therapist because I wanted to help people feel empowered. Times are ever-changing, and having a safe space to be yourself is key to my practice. I specialize in working with teens, women, and families who suffer from substance use addiction. I have completed thousands of clinical hours working in residential treatment facilities, ranging from detox care to outpatient treatment. My approach The most common theoretical approaches I use are TF-CBT, CBT, DBT, and Somatic Psychotherapy. My focus The clients I typically work with come from a wide range of socioeconomic statuses, races, and genders. I work with a diverse group of individuals-everyone is welcome! I am most comfortable treating substance use addiction, dual diagnosis, anxiety, and depression. My communication style My tone of work is pretty direct. I am here to listen to you and also provide you with the tools to get better. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist to help others understand themselves and the world around them. I grew up with a diverse family background and have always enjoyed different cultures, which plays a big role in my practice.
