Getting to know Jenni Hasenstaub

Do you worry about-or avoid-certain situations for fear of panic attacks, shortness of breath, stomach distress, or intrusive thoughts of anticipated catastrophe? Do you stay up at night worrying about something you said, did, didn't do, remembered, forgot, or found on WebMD's symptom checker? Do specific fears paralyze you? You may have an anxiety disorder. Anxiety sucks, but therapy can help! I specialize in helping you put anxiety in its rightful place. Every emotion needs a seat at the table, but when anxiety is the loudest (or only) voice, life becomes unbalanced, and our choices no longer feel like conscious decisions. My approach balances acceptance and change. I operate from a person-centered, humanistic perspective, offering a non-judgmental, safe space to work on issues that don't always feel safe-using warmth and humor. I incorporate EMDR, mindfulness-based therapy, self-compassion, attachment work, and CBT anxiety reduction strategies. I hold a Master's in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor's degree, both from Antioch University, Los Angeles. I believe deeply in this work and have witnessed the healing possible when people find the right treatment. If the time has come for you to move toward change and create balance, I would love to help!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Initial sessions will be focused on getting an idea of what is bringing you into therapy, what your goals are, and what will work to help get you to your goals. Subsequent sessions will be us working collaboratively to get you to your goals. This will look different for everyone, and will often look different from session to session. Some sessions might involve you processing events of the past week, some will involve developing skill plans to cope with specific symptoms or events, while still other sessions may involve trauma therapy to address underlying root causes for your current difficulties.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
