Getting to know Jennifer Duke

Hi there, I'm Jennifer! Hello, I'm Jennifer. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist with a private practice centered in Pasadena, California, and I serve clients statewide. I hold a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Currently, I am helping couples learn to see each other at deep emotional levels so that they hopefully cry less, have more compassion for each other, rebuild trust, and create hope for their future. My approach I use critical thinking as well as intuition to help couples get to their concerns quickly and stay on track during sessions. Some therapists hang out their signs and say they are couples therapists when they have no specific couples training. I have trained specifically in three modalities and have received personal supervision to learn how to serve you better. I use specifically targeted therapies such as Emotionally Focused Therapy to help you see each other's deepest needs, longings, and desires. We might also use Imago therapy to help you hear each other correctly and clearly, and the Gottman Method to help right off the bat to easily correct some communication skills that aren't serving either one of you. I am a certified AASECT sex therapist and am able to present with polyamory, kink, and gender diversity, as well as more traditional couples, so I do my best to make my virtual office a judgment-free zone.
