Psychotherapist
3300 Arapahoe Ave, 204, Boulder, CO
I work with adults navigating a range of challenges—including depression, anxiety, complex trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, and co-occurring mental health concerns. I also work closely with neurodivergent clients, and I strive to offer a space where people feel accepted and supported just as they are—without pressure to mask or explain themselves. My approach is warm, collaborative, and flexible. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, Brainspotting, DBT, and CBT, depending on what feels most useful to each person. I often bring art and creativity into the process as an additional tool for healing. Whether you're looking for support in the moment or working toward longer-term growth, I’ll meet you where you are and walk alongside you. I also want clients to know that I am a committed LGBTQIA+ ally. I welcome folks of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and expressions into a space that is affirming, respectful, and free from judgment. My intention is always to honor the full complexity of your identity and lived experience. My path to becoming a therapist began with a BA in English from Michigan State University and early work in arts nonprofits. I later earned my MSW from Simmons University, and completed an internship—and later a therapist role—at Teton Youth and Family Services in Jackson, WY. There, I had the chance to learn from seasoned clinicians and gain experience in both individual and family therapy. Since then, I’ve worked in private practice and larger mental health organizations in Jackson, WY and Boulder, CO, deepening my skills across different settings. In my work, I aim to bring curiosity, steadiness, and care. I understand that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable—and I do my best to make that step feel a little easier, and a lot more human.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Reaching out takes courage, and it's an important first step. I offer a warm, grounded space where adult clients feel seen and supported. I specialize in anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and feeling stuck. My approach is gentle and relational, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and Brainspotting to support healing at both the emotional and nervous system level. Together, we’ll work toward self-understanding, integration, and lasting change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When you arrive—either in person or virtually—you’ll be welcomed into a calm, supportive space designed to help you feel safe, seen, and in control of your own process. There’s no rush, no pressure to "tell your whole story" right away. Instead, Jen will meet you where you are, with curiosity and care. The session begins with a gentle check-in. Jen might ask what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and how you tend to care for yourself when things feel hard. You'll also be invited to share anything that might help create a space that feels supportive—whether it’s a preferred pace, communication style, or specific sensitivities. Jen will ask some guiding questions to better understand: What’s feeling most present for you right now Any patterns you’ve noticed in your emotions, relationships, or body What’s worked or not worked for you in past therapy or support experiences Throughout the session, you’ll be in charge of how much you want to share. The therapist’s role is to listen deeply, without judgment, and begin to gently co-create a map for your healing—whether through talk, somatic awareness, or trauma-informed approaches like IFS or EMDR. Before wrapping up, yJen may offer reflections, answer questions about the therapeutic process, and collaborate with you on what a next step might look like. The goal isn't to "fix" anything immediately—it's to begin a relationship rooted in trust, choice, and steady support.
