Getting to know Dr. Jesus Leyva
Choosing someone to be your psychologist can be difficult, and it can be overwhelming to know where to start. Additionally, therapy and assessment can be a loaded topic, especially when you have experienced negative energy in a therapeutic environment. When I meet you for the first time, my goal is to connect and make sure that we are a good fit for working with each other. I focus on making others feel heard and understood, and collaborate to develop a goal-oriented treatment plan to ensure that you are getting what you want. I offer a sense of direction and am open to discussing difficult and activating topics. I am comfortable incorporating your identity, beliefs, and values into treatment, and respect your background, whatever it may be.
Most of my clinical work has been with clients during intense parts of their lives, who usually engage in extreme behaviors to manage their pain. I am passionate about helping people achieve their goals and unpack heavy experiences with grace and empathy. I believe that everyone is doing the best they can and aim to provide a reparative relationship.
I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University and am a Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
