Jesus Ramirez, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Jesus! Hello, my name is Alex Ramirez, and I am a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master?s in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I have over seven years of experience working with individuals impacted by the criminal justice system. My approach is tailored to the individual, focusing on their goals and how we can get there together. My approach I provide therapy using an individualized, eclectic style; however, most of my work stems from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). My focus I have primarily worked with adult males, especially those who have been incarcerated. I have also worked closely with LGBTQ communities, Veterans, and Older Adults. Most of my experience involves supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, adverse childhood experiences, and a wide range of mental health illnesses. My communication style I aim to establish trust and rapport where we can be honest with each other, listen, understand, clarify, and validate. As the client-therapist relationship develops, I would like to explore deeper levels to find areas of growth, which can be challenging but only at the client?s pace, in an effort to work toward achieving client goals. My journey to mental healthcare I initially thought I wanted to be in Law Enforcement and believed enlisting in the military would make me most eligible. I served four years in the United States Marine Corps. As I transitioned out, I sought guidance and resources because I felt as if the world moved on without me. Luckily, there was a veterans resource center at my local college, and I found it motivating not only to help myself but also to help others in need. My goals for you Goals will be set collaboratively, checked in on appropriately, and re-established if needed. My first session with you In our first session, I would like to learn as much as I can about you and why you are seeking therapy.
