Jo Vannatta, LPCC

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there! My name is Jo Beth Krebs. I am an LPCC licensed in California but currently living in Texas! It takes courage and resiliency to embark on the journey of finding your “best self.” Life is full of unique challenges and lessons, including traumatic events, grief, relationships, and family—all of which can take their toll on our psyche. I use an eclectic, integrative approach that includes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, among other treatments, to find what restores joy and peace to you! My goal is to provide a supportive, caring space to work on symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, postpartum depression, grief, or any diagnosis impacting your daily life. I have also begun working more intensely with performance enhancement in sports, test anxiety, and slowing memory loss in people diagnosed with cognitive decline. I am a Christian, having attended all Christian universities, but I embrace all spiritual practices. I respect all faiths, beliefs, and cultures and consider myself an ally to the LGBTQ community. I look forward to meeting with you! My approach EMDR, CBT, DBT, Clinical Hypnosis (January certification), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Gottman Method for Couples Counseling and families My focus Trauma, depression, psychosis associated with trauma, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, cognitive decline, test anxiety, social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD My communication style I am very laid back and easy to talk to, or so I have been told. Beware—I do have a Texas accent! My journey to mental healthcare I returned to school at age 50 to earn my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling after encountering a first grader I was teaching who missed his sister, placed in foster care, and his grandfather, who had assaulted her.
