Hi! My name is Joanna. I have been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 2013 and have worked in mental health with individuals, children, and families for over 20 years. I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from California State University, Fullerton, which laid the foundation for my passion and skills in this work. My approach I use a variety of approaches based on the individual to provide the best fit for each client’s needs. My focus I have experience with all ages and backgrounds and am dedicated to helping others reach their full potential. Whether managing your child’s behaviors, dealing with anxiety or depression, or struggling with a major life change, I want to help. My communication style I approach sessions with a supportive attitude and collaborate with clients to identify the best plan of action. We work together to challenge negative thoughts and overcome hurdles. My journey to mental healthcare I have always wanted to work with children and families through difficult times. Early in my career, I worked in foster care, social services, and community mental health agencies. I loved meeting clients where they were and guiding them through crises toward success in family and daily life. I bring those assessment and crisis management skills into my private practice to help clients navigate life’s stages. My goals for you Goal setting is collaborative. I guide clients in identifying and reaching their therapeutic goals. My first session with you The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. Feeling your therapist is a good fit is important, and I welcome feedback in the first session and throughout treatment.
