Hi there, I'm John!
I am a doctoral-level licensed mental health counselor in Florida with over 10 years of experience working as a therapist. I earned my EdD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Argosy University, Sarasota. I have worked with clients facing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, addiction issues, and ADHD. I have also helped many people who have felt lost and wanted to better understand themselves.
My approach
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don’t believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines a sense of humor with cognitive-behavioral, client-centered, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapies. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
My focus
I work with people struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction issues, and life satisfaction concerns. I specialize in working with men because there are issues men deal with that are unique, and they do not always feel understood.
My communication style
I have a friendly and conversational approach that includes active listening. I use humor and draw on my personal experiences to help people come out of their shells and build rapport.
My journey to therapy
I want to help people be the best versions of themselves. I had a life-changing experience with a therapist, and I want to give that to someone else.
