Jose Cabrera, LMFT

Jose Cabrera, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) providing telehealth services in California and New Hampshire. I work with adults and couples, specializing in anxiety, stress, trauma, and relational issues. My approach integrates Client-Centered Therapy, Art Therapy, and Brainspotting to help clients realize their healing potential and start feeling better. I earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loyola Marymount University, which has equipped me with a strong foundation to support my clients effectively. I believe no two people are alike, so I work collaboratively with clients to find a path that helps us both understand what is going on-sometimes that means going deep into old wounds. I also use proven neuroscience tools to help free the body from the stress and trauma it has been holding onto. This process allows us to move forward together toward wellness. I typically work with clients navigating life transitions and present or past trauma. Many of my clients identify as Black or Latino and have often downplayed or avoided the tough experiences that come with living as a person of color. I also support couples who are having difficulty navigating their relationships. My communication style is warm, approachable, and empathetic. I strive to create an environment where clients feel at ease discussing anything without judgment. I became a therapist because I have faced my own adversities and understand the journey it takes to heal deep wounds from the past. I'm ready to help you do the same. My approach to setting goals is collaborative, focused on defining what we hope to achieve during our time together. I believe building trust is the foundation for feeling comfortable in therapy. As we move forward, we'll set clear goals and track our progress together.
