Joy Molaro, LPCC

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, my name is Joy Molaro, and I am a licensed professional clinical counselor with a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and a Bachelor's from California State University, Monterey Bay. I bring creative and holistic approaches into talk therapy, including art, writing, tarot/oracle cards, movement, and breath work. Yes, we'll talk, yes, we'll move and get creative. And if you'd prefer to just talk, that's alright too. Clients appreciate these combined with my compassionate and down-to-earth approach. My approach I utilize Narrative, Relational, Feminist, and Somatic frameworks. Therapy uses your strengths and values as anchors. We navigate the stories we tell about ourselves and the world, rooted in relationships and social-cultural contexts. We cannot heal what we haven't felt, nor create new habits until we feel safe. Therapy and the therapeutic relationship deepen self-understanding and build courage to take steps toward a more aligned life. My focus I work with people of all ages. Clients often overthink, feel overwhelmed by emotions, uninspired, stuck, or lacking creativity. I support those managing depression, anxiety, high sensitivity, neurodivergence, social relationship struggles, navigating changes, and exploring identity (including gender and sexuality). My communication style I am described as "down to earth." My therapy style is balanced between directive and non-directive. I value deep listening, support, and validation, and believe therapy involves work-learning new skills and taking committed actions.

The Zoom call with the provider was cut off 20 minutes in and they did not attempt to resume the call nor respond to any messages regarding the abrupt end of the call until the following business day. Extremely unprofessional.
