Hi, my name is Juan C. Mendoza, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT#116475) with a Master's in Counseling from California State University, Northridge. I have 9 years of experience working as a therapist. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, which means I work side by side with my clients. I meet clients where they are, and together we work to find that �Aha� moment in their lives. I am experienced in working with children and adolescents dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), ADHD, and other behavioral challenges. I also work with parents using an evidence-based practice called Triple P (Positive Parenting Program). Additionally, I have experience supporting adults with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relationship issues. My approach My therapeutic methods include client-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Triple P, solution-focused therapy, play therapy, and family systems. My focus I enjoy working with children, adolescents, parents, and adults. My specialties include parenting issues, trauma, communication challenges, behavioral problems, and mood disorders. My communication style I value working closely with all my clients, and I believe that for therapy to be successful, clients need to feel safe and comfortable. One of my first priorities is to create a safe environment where clients can openly discuss core issues that may be hindering their growth. I work side by side with my clients until they resolve what brought them to therapy. My journey to mental healthcare What attracted me to become a therapist was a deep desire to help people. As a young adolescent, I struggled to understand myself, but after graduating and starting college, I realized my passion was helping others understand themselves. That desire continues to drive my work every day-to help people find who they truly are.
