NC
Hi there, I'm Julian! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with specialized training in Medical Family Therapy. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from East Carolina University and hold a PhD from the College of Health and Human Performance. I blend evidence-based approaches with cultural sensitivity to help individuals, couples, and families navigate life challenges, especially those intersecting with health concerns, cultural identity, and relationship dynamics. My approach My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from post-modern and systemic perspectives. I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS) to create tailored treatment plans. As a Medical Family Therapist, I take a biopsychosocial-spiritual lens, considering how biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors interact in your wellbeing. I value collaboration, believing you are the expert on your life while I provide guidance and evidence-based tools for change. My focus I work with individuals, couples, and families, particularly those navigating health challenges, cultural transitions, or relationship difficulties. I help clients with anxiety, depression, chronic illness management, relationship concerns, parenting challenges, and trauma, with special expertise in Latino communities and other marginalized populations. I am bilingual (Spanish/English) and comfortable addressing the intersection of cultural identity, spirituality, and mental health. My communication style My style is warm, direct, and culturally responsive. I create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard and respected. Working with me feels collaborative—I balance compassionate listening with gentle challenges that promote growth..
