Julie Hwang, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I am currently a licensed marital and family therapist and a psychologist. I have over 15 years of clinical experience in the field of psychology and human behavior. My approach My approach to treatment is emotionally positive and solution-oriented therapy in a warm and safe space. That means, I believe in first healing the person's invalidated experiences and emotions above all else. I realize many individuals are unique in goals, treatment, and readiness for this type of work, so I tailor the work and pace to each individual's needs and readiness. The general approach I keep in mind is a collaborative and client-centered therapeutic process while maintaining some form of structural and didactic learning curve. My focus Generally, I work best with clients who are open to working with expansive ideas and thinking outside of the box to improve one's situations. I believe to become unstuck in our lives, sometimes we have to challenge those beliefs at times. However, I am not one of those therapists who will tell you what to do. I believe that is a personal decision on your end. Instead, I will play a more guiding role in which I can help foster your ability to see multiple possibilities in order for you to ultimately make your own decision. I will be more reflective, inquisitive and curious about what we can do to improve your well-being and mental health. My communication style I mirror the language my clients bring into the session to establish rapport. Thus, depending on the therapeutic relationships, we can be jovial, serious, or calm. It depends on the experiences of the dynamic between the two people. I am flexible and adaptable in different ways of communicating with others. My journey to mental healthcare Most of my professional life has been in and around this work. I have personally been in therapy for a long time.
