Hi there, I'm Justin! As a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified clinical sociologist, I'm interested in how the systems you're in (school, work, relationships, family) contribute to or buffer against mental health struggles. I approach therapy with compassion, collaboration, and curiosity. I have extensive experience working with personality disorders, mood disorders, trauma, dual diagnosis, and clients in crisis in settings like crisis shelters, community clinics, and schools. I integrate poetry, art, music, and play into a feminist-experiential therapy model to empower clients. I earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chapman University and my Master's in Sociology from Arizona State University. I also hold a Bachelor's from the University of California, Irvine, and an Associate's from Saddleback College. My approach I use various evidence-based interventions, drawing heavily from feminist therapy and LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapy. I aim to meet you where you are to create a safe space for unpacking your story. My approach is anti-racist, anti-sexist, LGBTQIA+-affirmative, sex-positive, and inclusive. As a clinical supervisor, I've practiced, supervised, and taught many therapy models. I enjoy helping clients find an approach balancing support, flexibility, challenge, and collaboration. Outside therapy, I've taught sociology and psychology at Southern California universities and colleges. I'm active in research and publishing, focusing on gender, race, identity, and inequality. My focus LGBTQ+, women, depression, anxiety, gender dysphoria My communication style A balance of support, flexibility, challenge, and collaboration. Most importantly, I want clients to feel empathized with and supported. My goals for you To help individuals better understand themselves, their patterns, and the systems they're in.
