Hi there, I'm Karen!
Hi, my name is Dr. Karen Davis #S10075. I have been licensed for 11 years in NC. I am a person-centered therapist, focusing on developing healthier self-esteem, decreasing symptoms of anxiety and depression, and working from a strengths-based approach.
My approach
I believe in a person-centered theoretical approach. From this foundation, I blend in theories such as psychodynamic, CBT, and ACT based on client needs.
My focus
I typically work with clients struggling with life transitions, self-esteem, relationship and family issues, depression, anxiety, and career coaching.
My communication style
My sessions are relaxed. I seek to build a trusting relationship where clients feel comfortable sharing and being authentic without fear of judgment.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a therapist because I love to see others succeed. I enjoy watching individuals learn about themselves and use that knowledge to become empowered and lead fuller lives.
My education
I earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I also hold an EdD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Argosy University, Sarasota.
My goals for you
I believe setting goals in therapy is a joint effort. The client is the expert in knowing what they need help with, and I assist in putting those needs into words to formulate therapy goals.
My first session with you
In the first session, I take time to get to know clients and why they seek counseling. I ask questions and listen carefully to develop a clear picture of their life. Together, we develop treatment goals.
