Psychotherapist
CA
My experiences include: 60+ years of living, on both coasts and the Midwest too, one marriage, a son and daughter, a B.A. in Advertising, an M.A. in Clinical Psychology, a Middle School counselor, a psychotherapist to our war veterans, an Adolescent Specialist, a Marriage psychologist, and an all-around Seasoned Professional. My approach Let us begin to unpack all that is weighing on you. I AM HERE TO HELP YOU LIVE THE LIFE YOU WANT TO BE LIVING. Life happens, and we have a choice on how to react/respond to every stimulus. I provide the tools to achieve a healthier, happier, higher-functioning, harmonious life. I am passionate about my profession and honored to be of service. My focus My ideal client is ready for a change. Knowing that we cannot change other people, only how we choose not to react to them. Learning to unplug from what is toxic and plug into your power. Learning to love ourselves first. Putting our oxygen mask on first. My communication style Compassionate, Empathetic, and Direct. And I use lots of metaphors, which help with understanding. My journey to mental healthcare Oh, I have told these stories before. I was the nurse on the play-battlefield with my 3 brothers, administering comfort and M & M's. At 8 years old, I comforted an unknown neighbor woman crying on her porch steps. In elementary school and always, I was/am drawn to any person in need. I would walk Kenny to the drinking fountain to take his Ritalin. I would sit with the crying and injured, listen, and comfort. In college, I was the one helping the sick/frightened girl in the bathroom. On Spring Break, I see the lost and afraid and ask her to join us. My first career was in Advertising, my second was raising my kids. One of my highest honors was as a PTA Golden Oak recipient.
