Hi there, I'm Karen! As a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Colorado State University, it is my honor to offer safety, support, and understanding as you bravely step into the exploration of a richer, more fulfilling life. I practice primarily Internal Family Systems to address life challenges involving trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief. My approach I believe the therapeutic journey belongs to the client, and I stand beside them as a compassionate guide, deploying Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt, and Mindfulness techniques for symptom relief and resolution. Shame reduction and elimination are paramount in my practice. My focus My ideal clients are adults who carry shame, depression, anxiety, and similar struggles due to their trauma history and are seeking a richer, more fulfilling life. My communication style My primary focus is to provide a safe place where individuals are free to share openly about their struggles. My office is a judgment-free zone where all emotions and thoughts are welcome. My journey to mental healthcare My goal has always been to make a difference with other humans. Being human is complicated, and the journey is often easier with a guide. Seeing clients make positive changes and find more joy in their lives continues to feed my own journey. My first session with you Clients can expect a number of questions from me during the intake session so that I can gain information about their history and the reason for seeking treatment. I generally then share about my style, theoretical models used, and myself, allowing the client to determine if they would like to set a second appointment.
