I currently hold an active license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 115848) and have extensive experience working with individual clients diagnosed with PTSD, bereavement, depression, anxiety, and/or ADD. I earned my Master's in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Santa Barbara, and my Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. My approach I use varied approaches to therapy, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and narrative approaches. My emphasis is on teaching trauma-sensitive coping skills using Seeking Safety 12-step modalities and helping clients create their narrative story to foster compassion for the past and empowerment to build a better future. I have trained with an emphasis in family systems and multicultural counseling, which I believe helps clients weave their unique cultural backgrounds into their treatment goals. My focus Mild to moderate depression, mild to moderate anxiety, Bipolar II Disorder, mild to moderate PTSD, and substance misuse issues. My communication style I take a gentle and calm approach to treatment, with slow-paced teaching of skills and their application. My journey to therapy I aim to be a change agent and part of the cultural shift toward making mental health and wellness accessible to everyone. My goals for you Client-centered goals focused on symptom reduction and improvement in functioning. My first session with you I focus not on the past but on discussing options and barriers that prevent you from achieving the future you want.
