CO
Hi there, I'm Kathryn! I attained my master’s degree in counseling psychology in 2014 with Bowie State University and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado, as well as licensure in South Carolina and Wyoming. My approach I offer a humanistic, client-centered, emotion-focused approach to identify and alleviate painful emotions. I am also trained in CBT interventions to support healing through collaboratively identifying and implementing coping strategies that are as unique as you are. My focus I primarily specialize in adults and adolescents with mood disorders including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. I have specialized training in addition and substance use as well. My communication style I provide a warm atmosphere focused on genuine concerns and an open mind to walk beside you through any issues you are facing large or small. My journey to mental healthcare I find meaning in helping people achieve their potential and improving their lives. My goals for you I focus on a collaborative approach to goal setting in therapy and I strive to be as flexible in my approach to support each unique individual and their personal needs. My first session with you I firmly believe that everyone has the ability to heal and grow and a first session will focus on understanding you from a holistic perspective and highlighting strengths in order to build hope and momentum for future change.
