With more than 40 years of experience in the mental health field, I use multimodal therapy, a holistic approach integrating techniques from different therapies based on a specific theoretical framework. I work with children, young adults, adults, geriatrics, couples, and individuals experiencing behavior issues, life stressors, and adjustments to life transitions. My focus includes mood disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, sexual addiction, polyamory, LGBTQA+, transgender neurodivergent clients, grief, BIPOC communities, marriage and family issues, and active military and veteran concerns. I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Social Work from Grambling State University and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Louisiana Tech University. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, grief counseling, Structural Family Systems, Internal Family Systems, trauma resolution, REBT, Reality Therapy, Rogerian Person-Centered Therapy, hypnotherapy, interpersonal therapy, strengths-based approaches, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, healing the inner child, psychodynamics, coping with chronic pain and illness, motivational interviewing, educational therapy, focusing, re-decision making, energy work, Parent-Child Interactive Therapy, and more. I am comfortable helping clients experiencing symptoms of PTSD, mood disorders, ADHD, sexual addiction, survivors of domestic, physical, sexual, and verbal abuse; marriage and family issues; grief; coping with life stressors; neurodivergence; LGBTQA+ and polyamory; aging; and BIPOC individuals, ranging in age from 5 to 99, including active-duty military and veterans. My communication style aims to create a non-judgmental, trusting, and collaborative relationship with clients based on mutual respect. Depending on the situation, I can use a very gentle tone or be direct. Clients often report feeling validated, listened to, hopeful, and gaining a better understanding of their symptoms and symptom management.
