Getting to know Kelly Miyakawa

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California, Utah, and Maine. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California. As your therapist, I will support you in building the skills needed to navigate everyday life stressors. I have years of experience working with anxiety, trauma, suicidality, depression, PTSD, adjustment disorder, and relationship issues. I have had the opportunity to work in diverse settings, including inpatient and outpatient programs, both long and short term, serving populations from various cultural, ethnic, sexual orientations, gender identities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I am a strong believer in providing a safe space for everyone. It can be difficult to find openness and support, and I am happy to help with those challenges. Creating a safe, non-judgmental environment is essential to building a trusting relationship that guides you toward living with more joy and fulfillment. Reaching out for help is not easy. Many people find it incredibly difficult to seek the care they need. By taking this step, you are already prioritizing your self-care. This process can feel confusing and overwhelming, but I look forward to working collaboratively with you on this journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe in a straightforward approach and style to help develop more effective ways to cope with the ups and downs in life. I find it is important to provide a safe non-judgmental environment for everyone I work with because it helps to build a better trusting and working relationship. It is important to provide a space to allow everyone to be their most authentic selves.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
