Psychotherapist
CO
I know starting therapy can be a big first step, whether you are seeking therapy for the first time or looking for a new therapist. I work to create a collaborative, welcoming space for you to explore your unique concerns and develop tools and identify changes to improve your life. I draw from extensive clinical experience in mental health. My focus My clinical focus is on individual adults, with a special focus on young adults aged 18-35, with mild to moderate symptoms of anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, trauma, and stress. I have over 15 years of experience with young adult populations and presenting concerns. Additionally, I have special training in grief support. My approach I work collaboratively with each client to understand concerns and growth areas. I tailor my sessions to each individual client and draw from several approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Client-Centered, and mindfulness approaches. My communication style I set a tone of openness, support, empathy, and understanding. I invite clients to reflect deeply on their experience and consider alternative ways of coping to improve their situations. I am collaborative in nature and welcome feedback about what works best for you. My journey to mental healthcare At a fairly young age, I identified counseling as my career choice. I have always been deeply empathetic and wanted to ease the suffering of others. I have had the pleasure of working in mental health for over 20 years. Witnessing the growth of others is a special honor. I have found that my skills have deepened with each year of practice. My goals for you Together, we will clarify what is most important to you, whether that is exploring a certain area of your life in session or developing skills to reduce symptoms. I often introduce specific skills in session and encourage you to practice between sessions.
