Kylia Clark, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Kylia! I understand it can be scary to ask for help. Sometimes we feel we have the answers and that it is "weak" to reach out. It takes strength to admit you need help instead of bottling up your pain. I invite you to take this step. My approach involves a combination of warmth mixed with transparency. When you are ready, I will help you navigate the root causes of challenges so you can have long-lasting changes instead of just treating the "symptoms." I specialize in anxiety, grief, life transitions, gender/sexuality, and relationship counseling. I believe that healing happens when we feel supported and cared for. My goal is to come alongside you in your healing and to help you find ways to foster growth within yourself while also helping you find a supportive community. I use active listening to better understand you and build safety. I use direct communication to point out patterns and aspects in your life that you may not have noticed before. I have a very open approach where I will show my humanness to connect with you but also to show you that we can show up authentically as ourselves. I was drawn to becoming a therapist because of my fascination with human behavior, how our brains work, and how to help people live more authentic and full lives. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary. I help clients reach their goals by first establishing what you would like to work on in therapy. I will keep your goals in mind as I create a treatment plan. We will collaborate and team up to reach your goals. I will check in regularly with you about your progress. I also will talk about practical ways you can implement what we talk about in therapy into your everyday life. During our first session, I will ask you questions to get to know you better and to understand what you would like out of therapy. I aim to keep sessions from feeling too "clinical."
