When you're ready to navigate your journey of healing and change, it's helpful to have a supportive and nonjudgmental person to help you take those important steps. Remember, this journey is about the total you. As a counselor, it's my goal to meet you where you are in life and help you explore ways to improve your current situation. The counseling process is not one size fits all, nor do people deal with life's struggles in the same way. Where are you in your journey of healing? What strengths can you build on to become a better you? Let's work together to start your journey. My approach As a counselor trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Health (TF-CBT), I take a trauma-informed approach to counseling. Your life experiences shape how you respond to life's struggles. Each session is designed to meet your goals through psychoeducation, practicing coping skills, and homework assignments to reinforce the tools discussed throughout our session. Through psychoeducation, you learn how symptoms are active in your life. Practicing coping skills helps you gain control over how you handle the negative, often overactive symptoms, and homework increases your capacity to gain control over the negative things/behaviors in your life. My focus My ideal client has some insight that a change is needed in their life. The journey of healing is not easy, but it should be tailored to you and your needs. Let's start with you. My communication style I would describe my communication style as empathetic and client-centered. My journey to mental healthcare My journey of becoming a provider is centered around my passion to help others. I have years of experience working with diverse populations and helping others navigate their journeys of healing.
