Lauri Stoltzfus, LPC

Psychotherapist
VA
Hi there, I'm Lauri! My name is Lauri Stoltzfus, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Virginia. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from Regent University. I believe that anyone can benefit from therapy. Ultimately, the most important part of the therapy process is the relationship between the therapist and the client. I create and foster a collaborative, warm, and comfortable environment where my clients can relax and explore what brought them in for therapy. I see my role as a therapist as providing clients the space to navigate life’s stressors, reprocess distressing experiences, and increase self-awareness. My approach I approach therapy with an open mind, addressing the whole person by using treatment styles tailored to each client’s individual needs. I utilize interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and other approaches. I provide trauma-informed care, advocate for women’s mental health, and align with the principles of body acceptance and Health At Every Size (HAES). My focus I am passionate about advocating for marginalized people and deeply appreciate diversity. I love building relationships with clients from all walks of life. I strongly believe that trust, communication, shared humanity, and authenticity are fundamental to the therapeutic relationship. I work with diverse populations and enjoy supporting clients through life transitions, stress management, anxiety disorders, depression, relationship or intimacy issues, LGBTQIA+ support, trauma, women’s issues, grief, disabilities, and family challenges. My communication style Building a therapeutic relationship is important to me, so I take a relational approach with my clients. I am calm, laid back, and attuned to my clients and their needs.
