Lena Kline, LPC

Psychotherapist
CO
Hi there, I'm Lena! Hello, I am Lena Kline-Patterson. I hold my LPC licenses in Colorado and Wyoming. I earned my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. I have provided therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults using an integrative approach. Many of my clients struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, relationships, and much more. My approach Integrative, REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy), Existential, ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). My focus I often work with children, adolescents, and adults who have been struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, relationship concerns, and behavioral issues in children such as conduct/oppositional behaviors. My communication style I am a very straightforward person-blunt with no sugar coating. I am quite reality-, logic-, and strength-based. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist because I wish I would have had one when I was younger. I believe if I had someone to vent to, bounce ideas off of, and feel validated by, my younger years might have felt more supported. I wanted to be that person for others. My goals for you Goal setting is most important as set by the client. Sometimes, if advisement or guidance to create goals is requested, I will offer that as well. My first session with you In a first session with me, I mostly gather information about the client. This includes background history-a biopsychosocial assessment, if you will-that focuses greatly on one's timeline in life from the beginning until the present. Examples of questions include: ?Where did you grow up? How did you do in school? Do you feel you experienced any incidents in your life that shaped you? Do you have siblings or family history? Job/career questions? Hobbies??
